What's an authenticator app?
An authenticator app is a small free app on your phone that shows a fresh 6-digit code every 30 seconds. When you sign in to DriveMyBiz, you'll enter your password and the current code from the app. Even if someone steals your password they can't get in without your phone.
How to set it up (takes about 60 seconds)
- 1On your phone, install one of the apps below. Any of them works — they're interchangeable.
- 2Back on this computer, when DriveMyBiz shows a QR code, open the app on your phone and tap "Scan QR code" (or "Add account → Scan barcode").
- 3Point your phone's camera at the QR code on the screen. The app will show a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds.
- 4Type the 6-digit code into DriveMyBiz and hit Continue. You're set — next time you sign in, just open the app and type whatever code it's showing.
Which app should I use?
Any of these — pick whichever you already have, or the first one if you don't.
What if I lose my phone?
When you first set up the authenticator app, DriveMyBiz will show you a one-time list of backup codes. Save them — a password manager, a note in your safe, anywhere secure. If you lose your phone, one of those codes will get you in.
